When I first registered with the Hurley Clinic (2006) it did seem to give an overall better impression. I believe this flowed from a greater number of permanent and experienced GPs. The ones I knew then have since retired or left. I have no doubt at all that those working there are doing their best, and I have received very good attention and care far more often than not. The problems strike me as beyond local control: recruitment and retention and the heavy workload that GPs and other primary health care staff have to carry. Some of the GPs have greatly impressed me by their approach and knowledge. I suspect that the NHS is underfunded for what is asked of it and that some of our expectations are inflated. I'm grateful to all those who work for it, and especially at the Hurley. In the face of challenges, what they do is to be appreciated.

Sadly I had ACL reconstruction recently and had a 2 week wait for my appointment. I had to limp in on crutches on the bus after waking up at 6:45am for my appointment. I was 8 minutes late due to the bus not turning up and the doctor couldn't see me. I have waited 40mins+ for doctors in the past and I thought it quite cheeky as this was entirely out of my control.
