My father, who is 86 years old, had an appointment at Margate hospital today due to an increase of falls at home. As he has limited mobilty, Dementia and can't drive, I had to arrange transport for him. We've been working towards this appoinment for the last three weeks. Then, the day before his appointment and without warning it was cancelled by his Doctor at Mockets Wood. The doctor, or the surgery didn't bother to contact us to say it had been cancelled, so he was taken to the hospital, only to be immediately turned away. I think it is an absoulte disgrace that his Dr, should treat him and his family in this way. I'm absolutely appalled.

We have been with this surgery since 2001 and cannot fault it. All of the staff are extremely courteous and professional in their dealing with you. The surgery is a very welcoming environment.

On their own website it clearly states in bold red letters that due to high demand they are only registering new patients newly moved into the CT10 area. Fair enough. We had just moved into the CT10 area, 2 roads away from the surgery and it's by far our nearest one. So I went along to register (Just 2 adults, no medical conditions, we rarely go to the doctor). I was told in no uncertain terms by the receptionist that it didn't matter that we had just moved here, they would not take us. I pointed out that it says otherwise on the website, she replied that that's because they have a 'managed waiting list'. I said ok, can we go on the waiting list then, to which the reply was 'No. We're not adding anyone to the waiting list at the moment'. She then suggested I register at a surgery which is miles away and not served by public transport, and I don't drive, so therefore would be pretty much no good to me at all on the rare occasions that I'm ill. That was four weeks ago, I've just looked at the website and the same false info is on their homepage still. How long does it take to update a sentence on a website? SHODDY.

Due to high demand for registrations at Mocketts Wood Surgery we do limit any registrations to those in the CT10 postcode, for clinical safety largely. We have, until a few weeks ago, held a managed waiting list, which anyone with a CT10 postcode was welcome to be added to. Currently this has cleared and we have capacity to take registrations from people in the CT10 postcode, as our website correctly states. I apologies for any incorrect information you were given, please feel free to come to the surgery to complete registration forms.
