I have been a patient at Thornhills medical practice for over 35 years and I cannot speak highly enough of the care I have received in all departments. As a long term sufferer of chronic pain and bouts of depression I have had to call upon my doctor on a fairly regular basis and yes at times I have had to wait to speak to someone BUT with a bit of patience I have always been able to get through. The receptionist may have already taken 20 calls before they speak to me but they make me feels that I am their first call of the day. The doctors are exceptional. If they are unable to diagnose my problem there is no hesitation in blood tests being taken or my being referred to see a specialist. I have even on occasions received a telephone call to check up whether or not the medication as I may have been prescribed is helping me. And on one occasion the doctor has made an unannounced called to my house when he was on his way to the airport to take a well earned holiday with his family. My experience during Covid is that their service has been above and beyond. Sometimes I think that people forget that when they sit in the waiting room or on the end of the phone complaining about the waiting times, they are also the ones who once it’s their time to speak to the doctor they want their pound of flesh and the waiting time becomes even longer. Just saying. Thornhills is an excellent surgery.
