I would like to formally express my disdain for the Meads Medical Centre and its conduct with patients after months of being under their care. For months, I have been experiencing stomach problems - I have kept food diaries, tried to change my diet in different ways and to consult my GP (as any person would) for any further advice. I was put forward for many tests including blood tests and an ultrasound by one GP but when I came back to see my registered GP for the results, I was told by him that I was overweight and that I was bound to have these issues and that ultimately these tests are a waste of time. He ended my appointment by saying that he thought it was IBS and nothing more and that he wasn’t willing to refer me to diagnose IBS, as in his words, “the only way to diagnose IBS is through putting a camera up your bottom”. This made me feel deflated and much worse about all they was going on with my health. I also have anxiety and this set me back quite a bit without me fully realising. When I called today for other results, the receptionist who answered the phone was very rude and not understanding of my concerns. When I asked about an appointment she wasn't willing to help me or give me one. I am appalled with the general service and especially with the doctor as he did not listen to my concerns or even hear me out in anyway.

I have been a patient of this practice for 9 years and, as a mother of three, have had plenty of cause to visit it over the years, whether for myself, or one of my children. The doctors, nurses and support staff here are knowledgeable, kind and sensitive. I have always been able to have appropriate diagnostic tests done quickly and doctors/nurses are good at listening and are great at ensuring I/my children am/are involved in the decisions that are being taken. I also like the fact that alternatives to medications are always outlined/offered where appropriate. The staff always seem to go the extra mile; a request submitted this morning for a medical letter to support a health-related appeal was turned around within a few hours, with great courtesy and thoughtfulness. I feel very lucky to have access to such a professional and dedicated team - and all on the National Health Service. I think the Meads is a great asset to quality of health and well-being in the town. Thanks so much to all at the Meads for looking after me and my family.

I became acutely unwell whilst at the Meads Medical Centre yesterday. I was assessed rapidly by both a paramedic who works at the surgery and duty doctor. The level of care I received was fantastic and whilst I was feeling very anxious about the situation I found myself in both clinicians remained calm and professional doing their best to reassure me. They stayed with me until I was with the ambulance crew. Other non clinical members of staff asssited in calling the ambulance and again kept calm and professional. I was super impressed and feel very grateful. Thanks to all those involved. I am feeling much better and have been released from hospital today. Not receiving prompt care could have had a different consequence for me. Thank you
