I have been a patient at the Melbourne Avenue branch of Brookside practice for over 22 years and have nothing but praise for the staff and doctors there. Sometimes it is necessary to attend the doctors or nurses at either Chalfont or Brookside and my experience there is just the same. Brookside Group practice like all GP surgeries is currently facing enormous pressure but this practice is still managing to deliver a first rate service. Thank you all.

I rang the surgery regarding repeat medication, and was told I would have register with a different surgery before this could be done, as I was out of area. This was the first I had heard of this - but please read on. I was told to look at NHS Choices to find an appropriate surgery. For the first on the list, I would have to drive past my current surgery, or walk through about 3/4 mile of unlit woods. The second I was out of area for. The third - my current surgery! Upon asking the surgery again, I was told that as I had been a patient since the surgery started, this was a mistake. Please note, that prior to this, I have had excellent care and and very few minor problems. This does however point up a problem with NHS Choices in finding a GP practice - of the first three suggestions, for two I was out of area!
