Ever since I have joined back in 2007 I have regretted it. Receptionists are rude, arrogant and lack sensitivity towards patients. Recently I had a test result come back from the hospital as positive for an infection and was only informed via a call from the hospital and nothing received via my doctors surgery. I contacted the surgery the same day and advised that a fax was being sent to them from the hosp re my results and I need medication due to being heavily pregnant. The receptionist then told me that the doctor was unwilling to provide medication and wants a retest due to possible 'cross contamination' (it was performed in a lab environment!). The maternity ward in the hosp kindly helped me with medication, and now 6 days later I receive a call from the Drs receptionist stating I have an infection (same one) and asked how many wks pregnant I am (data on their system) and that they need to give me medication. Why 6 days later have they changed their mind and then receptionist called me a liar re every conversation and action or lack of that was made 6 days ago to resolve the problem and that the Dr is only just looking at my results (still 6 days later!). As soon as my baby is born, myself, my husband and my 2 children will be registering elsewhere - the sooner the better!

I am newly registered at the surgery and have had to see the doctor recently , i can say the doctor has treated me with compassion and understanding, the doctor has given me time to express my feelings and has involved me fully in my care. the practice nurse was very supportive too. the receptionist was very polite to me but i felt very cross with the person at the window shouting at them because he couldnt get what he wanted , they tried their very best to accomodate him they didnt deserve that level of abuse from a patient ! it was friday night and i can appreciate he was anxious about not being seen over the weekend but they did offer him the facility of the on call doctors after 630pm who could have seen and treated him ,which in my experience has also been a good service .
