Got an appointment this morning for later on this morning - fantastic! Arrived 5 minutes early. I was kept waiting for a further 35 minutes. Not a word of apology from the Doctor about my having to wait which, sadly, seems to be the norm now. Very bad manners though! My medical problem was addressed and dealt with within 2 minutes, as it was very straight forward. I then thought I would use the rest of my 10 minute slot to query a previously reported medical problem which had worsened. However, I was told that I would need to book another appointment to discuss this. Why? I was already there! I had already taken time off work to go there and spent time that morning booking the appointment. Why could I not have used my remaining 8 minutes to address it then and there???!!! What a waste of everyone's precious time! I was so shocked I didn't query it at the time, but I wish I had now. Because now I will have to take up another valuable appointment, take further time off work and delay the resolution of my ailment. It's bureaucracy gone mad, to the detriment of patients!
