The doctors and nurses working within this practice are brilliant so it is so disappointing that they are let down by the reception staff. As a nurse myself I know how important it is to treat your patients with dignity and respect. Seeking medical attention or advice can be very distressing and daunting for so many people and to be greeted by such a lack of compassion and rude attitude is so dishearten. I feel it is also important to raise the issue of how the appointments are now working, not everybody's appointment is an emergency and it would be nice to book an appointment with your GP for the future, whether this is to discuss mental health issues, seeking advice regarding new medication, discussing contraception and so on. When you are working a Monday to Friday job it is very difficult as you cannot take a whole day off work on the off chance you will get an appointment. I can see reading other reviews my issues are shared and it would be nice to see something done about them.

The care and service provided by this practice is appalling. The reception staff are rude when you attend the practice to discuss issues relating to your care. They do not listen to your query and are so quick to dismiss what you do say as being your own error. There is no compassion, understanding or help offered for resolve the matter. Their attitude is defensive and rude. As a patient, you are treated as an inconvenience. Telephones are never answered and appointments are not available unless you declare it as an emergency. Medications are not ordered and sent through in a timely manner, despite being ordered using the surgery guidelines and following due process. Patients are accused of leaving things too late and are patronised by reception staff. It is disappointing to read the number of reviews that share the same opinion, yet nothing appears to be done about it. In my opinion, practice management need to remind receptionists that the majority of people attending the practice are requiring medical assistance and are already feeling vulnerable. Therefore, to be treated by rude, arrogant and patronising staff is not appreciated. And furthermore, leaving patients without life saving medication and refusing to allow them to explain what has happened is frustrating. Better customer service is needed as well as lessons in manners, listening and being helpful is needed.

There are so many bad reviews regarding the receptionists and yet, you still get the same unprofessional and uncaring looks from them. Did you take any steps in order to train your staff to meet CQC standards? Do you even care about your patients? I know that there is a huge amount of stress when working at front desk, but when you keep getting bad reviews about your receptionists, you need to DO something. They simply don't care, they don't even smile, they don't listen, they just wanna get rid of you...at least do it nicely. Most of the time you are welcoming people who feel sick, they really don't need to see your irritating faces and eyes rolling. If you don't enjoy working with people, get a back office job. THEY NEED SERIOUS CUSTOMER SERVICE TRAINING. At least the doctors and nurses are very professional, caring and respectful. Hopefully this message will go to the right person.
