I visited my Dr, Dr Ismail Yahaya (my GP of nearly two years), on the 13th of October 2023. During my appointment for a prescription review, he kissed me. He then took my number from my details and by the 16th of October he was sending a series of text messages to apologise, asking me to book another appointment so he could “put everything right”. It was reported to the police, the General Medical Council, and the Surgery managers on the 17th of October. His phone number was verified in various ways, but in part by his WhatsApp picture being a photo of him and his fiancé upon their engagement. Since then I’ve had two meetings with the police who are investigating it as a sexual assault. The GMC have confirmed they have my complaint and are opening an investigation. The Surgery however has done nothing. Dr Yahaya is still practising and available for appointments despite his sexual assault on me on the 13th of October. My whole purpose in going to the police and the GMC is to protect other women from going through this same experience (which is nothing short of hell). I therefore feel I have no choice but to post my experience publicly, to make other women aware of the dangers they could be exposing themselves to.

At this stage, I would like to make very clear that, the staff, nurses.and doctors I meet and dealt with, are always very kind, helpful ,respectful and very expert, accurate and liable. For the record, I have been with my GP more than 18 years. Unfortunately, I last visited the medical centre looking for advice about my severe pain, (back and legs) which is affecting my daily activities and work. I saw Dr. Ismail Yahaya, rudley by pointing his finger told me I will ask you to shoot off.(By the way this is his excact words). Not disrespect to Dr. Yayaha, but he is unhelpful, and uninformative . I am disappointed with this behaviour, and complained about him, and requested not to see deal with him any more, even if I will die from my illness or pain. I am happy that my GP is a medical centre, which have many others doctors, helpful and informative.
