First time visiting this surgery after moving to the area. Popped in to request a repeat prescription for my usual eczema cream. The receptionist was friendly and it was easy enough to get an appointment, but the rest of the visit was a let down. The doctor found my medical history easily enough, and confirmed my prescription with no problem. It was only when I picked up from the pharmacy that I realised I had been prescribed the wrong thing! Same brand name, just as an ointment instead of the cream. I hate using ointments, and find that creams work much better on my skin. I’m annoyed at having paid £17 for a product that I won’t use, and that I’ll have to faff around with another appointment to get my prescription changed, and spend even more money on the correct treatment! Especially as my medical record clearly shows that I have been on a repeat prescription for the cream for the last 3 years. I don’t know where he pulled ointment from... He also refused to prescribe me the combined pill, which I have been taking happily since 2012 for irregular periods and acne. This was due to my telling him of a past migraine, which occurred 18 months ago. I had talked with other doctors and nurses about this at the time, who were happy to let me continue taking the combined pill. I was instead prescribed Cerazette, which having since read up on I do not feel comfortable taking. Seems like a big waste of time and waste of money. I wasn’t properly listened to and now I’ll have to return to sort out this mess.
