I have tried to make an appointment for a non urgent condition. I was told to phone at 8.00am for a same day appointment, I pointed out the condition was non urgent and perhaps those appointments should be for people in urgent need. Also as it would not be urgent I could arrange time off from my employer with some notice, but no phone in the morning if you get through you have struck lucky and the golden ticket of an appointment, if not call again the day after. The whole appointment system is ludicrous I can think of no patient who benefits from this. In the last 5 years this surgery's attitude to patients has seriously deteriorated and are treated as an inconvenience to the staff of the surgery. |

I’ve had 12 years with this surgery and the drs (mostly) are fabulous - the practice nurse will refer you to the dr if you need to be seen or are still concerned after seeing her but when you really need a Dr for something that’s not minor they are fabulous - I have received 2 follow up calls and had the dr rebook appointments for me with them and then received follow up calls to check I’ve been ok following treatments - surely you can’t ask for More from a GP ?i have always felt well cared for I am sad that this surgery gets so many poor reviews - I think when it counts they go above and beyond.
I’ve had follow up calls for one of my children too purely because the dr was concerned about them - she wanted to check a referral had gone through and when it hadn’t she spent time calling the service to ensure we were fast tracked telling me to let her know if I’d not heard by the end of the day!!
There’s always an exception to this and yes, there has been the odd dr who hasn’t been so good but thankfully there are Plenty to choose from - I suspect a lot of complaints are from people who want an appointment immediately for a minor issue expecting anti biopics that they won’t receive -
The Booking system isn’t ideal but if people with colds went to the pharmacist first it would put less strain on the surgery! |
