I have been with leagrave surgery for 6 years I think. Iv never ever had a appointment cancelled. I call 8am and always get a appointment same day. And on call back from Doctors is very good. Services are very good. And as for receptionists they are all very kind and very respectful. It has many Doctors. All Doctors are very good. Kind and caring. I have been treated very good. Above my expectations. As many other surgeries were not good at all. And i have advised leagrave surgery to family n friends.

Some receiptionists are lovely but there are some who have messed up giving appointments, which led to a visit to the emergency room. Sometimes they raise their voice at you & even on the phone. -Theyve changed their online services to ttp which has limited appointments -Half an hour wait for appointments -Nurse take 3 days to send vital medicine. Recieve medicine 5 days after appointment. I would recommend to people to go to NHS 111 if they ever leave appointments frustrated and unheard.

On the whole the practice is quite good, but sometime the receptionist can be quite rude this has happened on several occasions when trying to make an appointment to see a doctor or get a prescription. Maybe the practice should have them retrained in patient civility and politeness. I am not saying that all the receptionists are the same, the majority are very polite pleasant and helpful. Trying to get an appointment or have a doctor call you is like pulling teeth, we are told to phone the surgery at 8 am or 2 pm to have a chance of either only to be told there are no appointments and you will have to call again the next day. All this needs sorting ASAP.

I am very sorry that you feel that some of the receptionist are rude, and I will discuss your complaint with the receptionist team. If you have the name of the receptionist that would be helpful. The appointment system may not be suitable for everyone and at time can be a little harder due to GP holidays. Please see below ways you can make an appointment Urgent Appointments Ring the surgery at 8am for urgent morning appointment. Ring the surgery at 2pm for urgent afternoon appointment. Urgent appointments are for things that can’t wait to be seen in the next routine appointment. The GP will only discuss one problem. If the GP feels your appointment is not urgent you may be ask to rebook. Please note URGENT appointments are allocated on the day and you may not see your GP of choice. If you want to see a certain GP you will need to book a normal routine appointment. PREBOOKABLE You can book these via reception and they will offer you the next available appointment in the week your ring in, if none available they will book 2 weeks ahead of day you a ring on. We do our best to have 6 weeks appointments on system. TELEPHONE APPOINTMENTS GP’s have telephone appointments at the end of their morning surgery, these are booked on first come first severed basis (these are to be used when seeing a GP face to face is not necessary) ON LINE APPOINTMENTS Patient can see 14 days ahead and book with GP of their choice at a time that is convenient to the patient. Please be advised Monday online appointment are not released until Friday evening at 6.30pm (You will need log in details from reception to use this service). Monday appointments 25% of Monday appointments are released online, they are released on a Friday evening. The remaining 75% of the appointments are release at 8am. Locum Appointments 75% of the locum appointments are same day appointments and we release these at 8am and 2pm. We have 2 locums that work on a Wednesday and Thursday and a Locum that works Friday morning. Over the holiday period it can be harder to make appointment with GP of your choice as the GP maybe on holiday. Over the summer the partners all take 2 weeks holiday. Please be advised we don't not take request for prescription over the phone unless the patient is housebound. If you have not already set up for the online services. Please fill out the registration form on our surgery website and we will action this for you. Once again I am very sorry you felt that some of the receptionist are rude and you have had a problem booking an appointment. Kind Regards Zoe Somers Patient Services Manager
