The doctors, nurses and reception staff have always been consistently excellent. I really can't fault them. I'm sorry that Dr Quartly has retired - a huge loss. However, the online appointment booking system is depressing and the inability to make any but an urgent appointment by phone just causes anxiety. It's not like having an annoying misfire on a Vauxhall Astra, but it seems that's how I'm regarded when I have to wait 48 hours (longer over a weekend) to know that I've got an appointment. Sick people and their families are naturally very frightened and anxious and this will drive people to an already overcrowded A&E. It dehumanises and diminishes people when they're at their lowest. Can the appointments system be fixed?

Over this difficult time with COVID I really appreciate the support I have received at the surgery especially by the nursing team. Everyone I have seen has been so helpful and the treatment I have received has been excellent. Thank you very much!

I have read several of the reviews with multiple people saying that their mental illness was not taken seriously and that staff in general are rude and dismissive and that they are really partronising. I must say I ABSOLUTELY agree. I suffer with bipolar and I had a very URGENT personal issue the receptionist was so bloody rude and unhelpful and would not let me see a dr unless I told her my issues in great depth. I ended up shouting my very personal issues in frustration, anger and disgust. It actually triggered an episode of rage which is really not nice for someone dealing with bipolar disorder. These receptionists are not medically trained nor are they in a professional position to dictate what someone’s medical needs are and deem them urgent or not. Especially when mine was Literally an emergency and any medical professional would have realised this! No vulnerable person should ever be made to feel the way I was made to feel by a particular member of staff at this surgery. She is ALWAYS so SO rude and unhelpful. Lord only knows how she still has a job at the surgery after all of this time. She really should not be working with vulnerable people. She’s literally making people with mental illness even more ill and making people too afraid or worried to phone in! (Including myself) That really is not acceptable at all.
