My Dentist in Fowler street contacted me in a phone call and said i was due a checkup appointment. I said i was glad they called as I had a Bridge tooth that had come out and could i make an appointment to get it put back in. An appointment was arranged and the day before the appointment they called me to confirm i was attending to which i said i would be. It's worth noting I'm A stroke survivor which left me with memory problems which i told the Dentist at one of my previous appointments and possibly why they needed to confirm my attendance the next day. At this point i asked to make sure i was having my bridge tooth reset as previously arranged to which i was told only a ten minute appointment had been set up. I reminded the secretary the whole reason i was so keen to get an appointment so quickly was for the Bridge tooth. I was told it was only for a checkup. Feeling Annoyed at the seemingly runaround I decided if my needs were not listened to, let alone not going to be acted on the i would seek medical attention from those that would. To add further insult to injury I received a letter from the surgery stating because i failed to attend or give 24 hours notice, that they could no longer offer me NHS treatment at their practice. Annoyed, Toothless, And left with a need for a new Dentist which For (A Stroke survivor) just adds to the to the myriad of hardship we try cope with everyday.
