Like a lot of people I don't particularly enjoy a dental visit however from walking into the very calm, modern, immaculate reception I immediately felt at ease. I completed a medical questionnaire then was escorted by a very friendly nurse to the dental surgery. My dentist greeted me with a lovely smile and reviewed my medical and dental history, we discussed my concerns then following x-rays he explained a treatment plan all of which were very clear and concise. I arrived for my treatment feeling quite nervous. Again I was accompanied to the dental surgery by the nurse and met by the Dentist. Together they put me at ease and talked me through every stage of my treatment. In all the years I have had oral anaesthetic, this was the most gentle and least painful injection I've ever felt and that experience continued throughout the duration of my appointment. I am extremely pleased with the work carried out but most of all my nerves were in the bag due to the professionalism of both Dental Nurse and Dentist. My dentist is an amazing gentleman, he is the only shining light of the practice and is the only reason I attend. The reception staff are rude and have on occasions been unkind with their manner. Such as shame and after so many complaints I can not see why the issue isn't being addressed. | |||||||

After 6 weeks of waiting for my first appointment with this practice I turned up 15 mins early and I was seen 20mins after my appointment time the dental nurse who shouted of me was not very pleasant she was rude infact she was very abrupt when telling me what room it was that I needed to be in. When I entered the room the dentist didn’t even introduce herself or ask me anything about My lifestyle and diet she was very rough when checking my teeth and very aggressive when saying I had cavities and didn’t give me any info about the treatment I could have regarding my teeth when they took x rays they were very aggressive when asking my girlfriend to leave the room which was extremely uncalled for as she didn’t do anything to them. When I gave the dentist my registration form she snatched it off me and said I’m a very very abrupt way to take a seat but I didn’t know what seat she was on about as she didn’t say so or point me to the correct seat so I sat on the plastic chair beside my girlfriend then she turned around and said no here again she was very abrupt the receptionists were also very nasty and aggressive and snappy this place has no customer service skills at all !! When I asked the dentist a question she couldn’t actually answer my question she had to spend a good few minutes thinking about the answer and when answered again was very rude and abrupt I feel like she was extremely under experienced and really shouldn’t be dealing with patients on her own without the full experience that she clearly needs IF YOU WANT A GOOD DENTIST DONT GO HERE I will not be returning to this dentist due to this experience they also make you feel very on edge from the moment you walk into reception I think it’s a absolute damn discrase the way you are treat from the beginning to the end and the staff are abrupt aggressive nasty rude and need to all learn customer service skills I DEFINITELY DONT RECOMMEND THIS DENTIST ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING Reply from West Auckland Dental Practice Mon, 08 Jul 2019 12:15:43 +0100 Thank you for your email. I have spoken to the members of staff involved and we are at a loss to see anything which would substantiate this complaint. Computer records show you were seated in the surgery at 11.37 a.m. which although was 17 minutes behind your scheduled time, the dentist did apologise that she was running slightly late. A full medical questionnaire was also taken which is our normal procedure. Your girlfriend was asked to leave the room for the taking of x-rays again which is normal procedure and best practice. We are sorry you felt your experience here wasn't what you expected but understand that you do not want to return which is of course your prerogative. | |||||||
