Despite informing the Dentist that I was a nervous patient the check up was a painful experience conducted at speed and with very little empathy. I was told that I needed some minor work on a couple of fillings so I booked another appointment. The next available time was in 2 weeks so I booked the appointment and thought it would be an idea to see the Hygienist after, but was told they only come in on certain days and it would be imposibble to arrange so a separate appointment would be needed. I received a Text reminder of the appointment a couple of days before but was contacted on the day to cancel. I then book another appointment and have to wait another 2 weeks, I receive the Text message a couple of days before and then yet again the appointment was cancelled. I was told that this time it was due to a bereavement for which I completely understand but no alturnative Dentist was offered and I know that this provision has been offered to others. NHS Dentists are usally found in run down poorly maintained properties and this is no exception however this practise combines this with an argumentative receptionist a disregard for oral Hygenie and the impact that cancellation may have on the patients.
