I am a very nervous patient and a challenge for all who dare to enter my mouth. I went to see the hygienist today for a very deep clean. I was terrified. Both the hygienist and the dental nurse were kind, reassuring and as gentle as could be with me. I was given lots of mini breaks where I was reminded that I needed to breathe. I have been on the receiving end of some brutal work in my mouth but whilst this visit wasn’t a pleasure I believe it to be the best I could get. I also was given lots of advice. I had been going to my previous dentist for over 25 years and during lockdown they “kicked me out as an NHS patient” and would only take me on as a private one. I was not happy!
