We have been at this dentist for over 25 years. My son is a wheelchair user & has used one 15 years. It has been no problem until pandemic to go through the back of the dentist with my son in his wheelchair. I booked appointment about 6 months ago for today 22 April 2022. I was told because of covid we couldn't come through the back. I explained, how my son is in a wheelchair & couldn't use front door because of the steep slope & the 9 steps leading up to the door. The receptionist said im sorry but, there is no waiting room & you have to wait outside at the front. She said to get my son out of wheelchair and let him walk up the steps. I said, if my son could do that we wouldn't had been using the back door for years. I went onto say, my son cant climb up steps. She replied, im sorry you have to register with another dentist. But by April 2022, restrictions could had been lifted. Two weeks ago, i phoned the dentist to explain i couldn't find another practice taking on nhs patients. Could we still come through back door, if my son, daughter, husband & myself wore masks. The receptionist said yes that be fine. I explained that when I made the appointment i was told we couldn't use the back door because of covid restrictions etc. This receptionist said it would be ok to use back door. We arrived for appointment to be turned away. That we got to use front door. I am now, disabled myself and use a rolletter. We were told to use the front door. I explained to the receptionist about the phone call i had with another receptionist 2 weeks ago & we was told we could use the back door. She said, i will go & check. She came back & said i dont know who you spoke too, but no one here told you that. Now making me, out to be a lier. When a receptionist had told me 2 weeks ago we could use the back door. Its obviously the receptionist who told me, 2 weeks ago we could use the back door. That she was wrong & didn't want to get in trouble. We were told because of covid they wasnt taking disabled patients. This is discrimination to disabled because before covid there was no problem. For use using back door. There is only one person who works in back of the building and he could had come out into the yard for a few seconds, to allow us access. I bet, the staff, do not wear masks in supermarkets. This receptionist who came to speak to us this morning, wasn't wearing a mask. So obviously, receptionist aren't wearing masks in the practice. This practice is using covid as excuse & are discriminating disabled people. I would not recommend this practice to anyone |

My parents use this dentist and it has been my dentist from childhood. Now I take my young daughter here. We all see the same person. Fantastic service. I’ve not always liked going to the dentist but I remember how great he was with me as a child and is great with my daughter. Always involved in my care and given options. Feel comfortable going here. Don’t know what I’m going to do when he retires. |
