From reception to consultation with and treatment by the dentist I have always felt I was in good hands.0

I had an NHS extraction today (my decision because the tooth was badly infected - they did offer to help me save it). Extractions aren't nice. But the dentist could not have been kinder and more supportive. Technically, the extraction was done really well - fast, efficient and no pain. But they also took care of me to ensure I was okay and understood what was happening, was not in pain and made sure I knew what to do after the extraction. They even made me laugh a little, which helps relax you and is pretty hard to do when you've got a wadge of cotton wool in your mouth. I always feel a little sorry for dentists because we all dread going and we don't like treatment. We patients can be a little grumpy because we're fearful or in pain. So I just wanted to say thanks to the dentist and staff at My Dentist for working so hard to make it as easy on me as possible. In summary, the dentist has a dry sense of humour, puts you at your ease, is very caring and technically very good. I wouldn't say I look forward to visiting the dentist but I don't dread it, and I know if I need treatment he's going to do the best he can for me. He explains everything really well and he remembers you and treats you like an individual. I always feel cared for when I've been here. I think he's a very good dentist and I would recommend them as a practice. The dental nurse and receptionist are also very good too.

I simply do not recognise the negative reviews given about this dentist. I've been a patient here for 15 years. They've seen me through many ups and downs with my health and teeth, and they treat both my children. I cannot fault them as a dental practice. Their receptionist is superb and efficient. She remembers your name and is always polite. Their NHS dentist treated me for 14 years before he retired. Their new NHS dentist is just as good. They are not here to pussy foot around and tell you that you're taking care of your teeth when you're not. The dentist gave my children a talking to when they weren't brushing correctly. But they needed to be told off because they weren't listening to mum. They reformed their ways and now are happy to be getting good reports from their dentist. I have found this to be a very caring practice and most patients stay here long term. I've found them very good at dealing with children, but they're not going to pander to children who aren't looking after their teeth. They will be questioned and told off if they're drinking too many fizzy drinks, not cleaning properly etc. And in my mind that's just how it should be. I have never been kept waiting for long periods in the 15 years I've been attending, so I do not accept this view that that's a normal thing. It is possible that there was a dental emergency came in, but normally the staff are very good at telling you if they're running late and I've never had to wait more than about 10 minutes. I really think there's no pleasing some people, but the reviews I see on here about this dental practice are simply not representative of what I've experienced as a long term patient.
