I had been to same NHS dentist for 8 years. Last visit June 2017 had all clear. Two weeks later molar cracked in half revealing extensive decay. After waiting several weeks for appointment to extract tooth got call day before to say appointment cancelled. Found another NHS dentist waited another 4 weeks and on visit was told I also had extensive decay under cap next to molar. Booked to have extraction only of molar 31 Oct!
Decided to find a private dentist as until I moved to Newark area had always been private. Drove across to Minster Dental - from entering reception my life changed completely. I was treated with compassion (being totally stressed out with worry) I was offered an appointment next morning. On the appointment a full set of x-rays were taken - I was sent through to hygienist then back to dentist who told me I not only needed the molar extracted but had extensive decay under 2 caps holding bridge and that I would have to lose my bridge.
A week later my bridge was sawn in half, two teeth extracted. On my next appointment I had a cap sawn off and the tooth filled and recapped with a temporary. On my third appointment I had a new cap replaced and a back molar filled (this molar had never been identified by previous dentists as being decayed).
At no time did I feel any discomfort, my dentist was friendly, informative and made me feel relaxed. I could go on - but if you are a nervous patient (many of us are who suffered the school dentist in the 1950’s have an irrational fear that never leaves us) I cannot recommend my dentist highly enough. On the 31st Oct the date due for my 1st extraction by NHS dentist Minster dental had completed my course of treatment! |

I recently had an appointment at the Minster Dental Center and would just like to say how lovely and friendly all the staff were.
I am a very nervous patient and suffer terribly from anxiety and stress and they looked after me fantastically, making me feel at ease and making sure the best care was given to me.
I need to come back for some treatment and feel everything was explained to me in great detail.

I don't normally do online reviews but feel I should.
I needed a second opinion on my daughters tongue - previous visits to other dentists my daughter would not open her mouth for the dentist so unable to get good opinion on it. Dentist was very calm and gentle with her and she opened her mouth for the first time. Dentist was very reassuring in regards to the diagnosis. My daughter actually enjoyed her visit to the dentist. A very positive experience and would recommend to family and friends.
