Went with my four years old during weekdays and the receptionist was very nice and kind trying to talk to my child not helped by the practice arrangement that is not suitable to accommodate children. Same with the dentist who was good but does nor know how to talk to or reassure my child. Booked appointment twi months in advance to my older children in the weekend as i am working .On the day of the appointment my 4 yrs old had asthma attack and was a difficult Saturday to the whole family with hardly any sleep yet I was keen to take his brother and sister to their dental appointment at 12.20 and 12.40 but became aware they will be late so called to find a different receptionist and I explained clearly the youngest asthma attack and that dad has to bring his brother and sister with a taxi from a far journey as i have to stay with the youngest . They will be with you around 1 pm .The receptionist sounded hesitant and not sure so I requested to refer my request to the doctor and tell me the decision.when i was told the doctor accepted to see them I reminded that they will not be reaching their before one as i did not want to waist a journey then they are not seen .They arrived at 12.55 as per the time receipt from the taxi for the receptionist to say they will not be seen . I called to clarify that i have said they will be their with a taxi and not before one pm . Yet in a very unfriendly and unkind manner refused to see even one of them .i asked to see the 12.40 appointment which will be 20 min late ,refused .I asked about the late policy, the receptionist didn’t know ehat the meaning of late policy or DNA.i explained that any health practice has a policy for arriving late or mot showing specific with time and incase patient called or not before being late (normally late policy is 45 min in hospitals before counting as DNA that if patient did call ). The receptionist was not even apologetic or accepting responsibility for agreeing to see them then change her mind , not even discussing seeing one of them so I requested to ask the doctor as we made the doctor aware before taking the taxi .receptionist very unprofessionally refused even to see if the doctor happy to see my 6 yrs old . When Dad insisted to wait for the current patient to leave so the doctor is involved before returning after waiting 15 min.Dad and i (over the phone ) were told no the doctor will not see even one child! The receptionist was very unfriendly and unprofessional so i started recording the phone call to have evidence on the way my young kids were treated and the unfair situation we were put at . After reviewed with the receptionist all what has happened since my first call before making the way and the fact i said not before one for all she accepted it happened after a lot of argument then i told her i have recoded the call as left with no other option after faced with such manner after wasted money&efforts infront of young kids who normally worried from dental visit.
