I went for a root canal & extraction. The dentist just drilled cleaned and filled my tooth instead of a root canal without my consent. 30 minutes after I had excruciating throbbing pain so I called them back, they couldn’t see me as they were too busy, take some pain killers it’s normal. I ended up in a&e on oramorph as the pain was something else. The dentist had drilled into my nerve and then left it damage and packed a filling too tight on top. 3 days later the emergency dentist have taken it out, this tooth could of been saved. This has also cost me in unpaid leave at work, fuel, and money paying out for treatment over £400 to get this sorted.

This was my first appointment, and waited 30 before being called with no apology for delay. No idea which dentist I saw as no introduction. After minimal examination lasting a couple of minutes, not even a mirror used to examine back of the teeth, was told teeth generally good but needed to see hygienist for calcium buildup, and come back in 6 months. Dentist didn’t even know that it was my first visit until his nurse told him as I was about to leave the room, so he obviously had not read any of the detail on the registration form and knew nothing of my medical history or medications. He then spent another minute or so recording the fillings in my teeth and I left. I declined any further appointments as I can do a more thorough examination myself at home. No scale & polish, advice, fluoride varnish or fissure sealant as outlined in the NHS Dental Services leaflet as being available, in fact, absolutely nothing to justify the £22.70 I paid. Dreadful service and attitude.
