Decent enough surgery with knowledgeable practitioners, however in dire need of modernising. The sole receptionist is hopelessly overloaded, with every call in beginning with "Dental Surgery, can I put you on hold" and then waiting for a further 3-4 minutes before she can actually take a call, due to another 2/3 being on the line at any given moment. Some sort of holding pattern, online appointment booking or automated voice recognition should be implemented in order for patients to not waste time sitting on hold. In addition, the number of appointments is woefully inadequate for the number of patients that they have. This is a surgery clearly overwhelmed by people, and there doesn't seem to be any system in place for emergency appointments. Earlier in the year I called several times with a cracked tooth with exposed nerve and having to take codeine-enhanced painkillers, only to say that they didn't have any emergency appointments for a month. At which point, what exactly is the point of them? I should point out that I am a registered patient at this surgery and thereby this falls far below expectations. After eventually being seen I still have several issues, but with an appointment booked in November it doesn't even seem worth the hassle of calling up to see if there is anything closer to the time.
