This started May 2021 when I managed to get an appointment for a broken wisdom tooth, the dentist was pleasant and said I would need to be referred to a sister practice for removal as they couldn’t do it there. I had received an acceptance email July 2021. Then nothing, not a word and as I had no pain I patiently waited. So here we are June 2022, more of this tooth has broken to the point there is now no tooth visible below the gum line apart from a point that is cutting the inside of my mouth. I called the practice to be told by the receptionist that they could remove the tooth there on Saturday but I would have to pay the private fee of £300+. So they can do removal of teeth but not on NHS it seems. Anyway I called the dentist I was referred to( In Slough) and they removed the tooth today, over a year later but only because I reminded them of the length of time for a broken tooth and asked what was regarded as URGENT as stated on my paperwork. Consequently my husband has been stuck off the NHS list as he hasn’t been for 2 years… I wonder why, maybe he thought he didn’t want to use appointments if not urgent and to leave for others that needed it more than him. No he has the task of finding another NHS practice, if he does I may follow unless he is reinstated.
