My mum has been a resident for the last 2 years. Initially mum was only going to be there on a temporary basis whilst recovering from a fall. The care given by all the staff was superb so much so that mum is now a permanent resident. She has dementia along with other medical issues and it is comforting knowing that she is getting the care she needs. |

My relative has been a resident here for a number of years now. I'm generally happy with the care they give. Most staff and residents are friendly, and the carers are helpful.
My only real complaint is that it's so difficult to get into the place when visiting. The front door is locked, which is perfectly understandable. However, you can wait outside for 20 minutes or so waiting for somebody to open the door. Quite often the only way to get in is to wait for another visitor to leave.
The worst part is that if I take my relative out for the day I can't even get them back inside and we have to wait outside in the wind and rain. |

A relative of ours has been a resident here for the last four years. Appleby Court was recommended to us as welcoming, comfortable and professional and they have never let us down. If you're looking for swish fabrics and furnishings look elsewhere but if you're looking for a home with a heart this is it. There are lots of activities for those who wish to join in, activities geared to all tastes and abilities, our relative prefers the quiet of her own room and her wishes are always respected. Over time she has come to regard the staff as friends and family. We visit daily and are always greated with a smile. It's been an interesting four years, at times our relative has been quite poorly. Services are streamlined and the staff work well with all services available in the community. "Hospice in your Care Home" was invaluable recently, but now thanks to the loving care from the staff at Appleby Court our relative is well and happy. At 94 our relative has a few quirks and likes life just so, all the staff go the extra mile to make it happen with patience and skill as I'm sure they do for all their residents. |
