My wife who is suffering from Alzheimer`s disease has been a resident at Astrum House since June 2011. During this time her condition has presented with many and various challenges to all those around her - these challenges have been met and dealt with by Carers and Management in both a sensitive and professional way. Due to the level of staffing and the care that my wife has received whilst at Astrum House her present condition is much better than it would have been had she not been able to receive this level of support. The Nursing Staff and Carers are friendly and helpful and have played a vital role in the quality of care that my wife has received. The environment and facilities at Astrum House are very good and these factors – along with the staffing and care delivery - play an important part in the quality of life for all the residents. The present Management Team are friendly and approachable – and whilst developing their skills and expertise - have continued to to raise the standard and quality of care in Astrum House throughout this last year.

Astrum House is an efficiently run nursing home with an approachable, friendly managerial team. The team have carefully distributed each job to each individual to enable them to do their very best for the clients of Astrum house. The team display a wide range of different skills and experiences so there is always someone right for the job depending on how and why they are needed. Astrum house is in safe hands with the manager, although my son is the client at Astrum, the manager all so helped me too. By helping me they have helped my son, and by looking after my son they have helped me. Sometimes on the news there are terrible stories of neglect or abuse within nursing homes, however when I go home after visiting my son I know that he is in safe hands. The day to day carers (enablers) at Astrum make the clients feel comfortable by using an approach that always makes the clients feel at home, because after all that is where they are.

Having visited Astrum house several times over the last 3 ½ years, I have nothing but praise for the place, and would feel very confident to recommend the home to anyone. A truly dedicated team provide excellent care for the residents, the ratio of staff to residents is excellent 2 enablers on a pod with 4 residents. When visiting I have found the staff very polite and friendly and they treat the resident with respect and kindness and they offer support and encouragement to residents to help them remain as independent as possible. The management team are very approachable and like the care staff they seem to take great pride in doing their best for the resident and are more than happy to help with any concerns The home is all so kept really clean and I and tidy.
