May 8 2017 After careful consideration we moved our mother into the Kings Lodge care home and whilst her needs were minor, we did not have any concern regarding the services provided by the Kings Lodge care home. However, after a fall (whilst at the care home), my mother was no longer able to get out of bed unassisted and during a period of 1 year we had multiple issues with the care provided by the care home and 2 hospital admissions due to dehydration and related conditions. Throughout her time at the Kings Lodge care home we were constantly worried about our mothers condition and all issues raised to the home were met with disdain by the management team. I felt that the home was run like a business and as soon as my back was turned my mothers basic needs were neglected because every time I visited there was another problem and I found her dehydrated, in discomfort on the bed or chair or I would find her in her own faeces (apologies but I don't know how else to phrase this) or with her hand in her food. Having moved our mother out of the kings lodge and into a new home ... we now know what true "care" looks like. An awful experience dealing with Kings Lodge and inexperienced management who refuse to listen to anyone, which included direct advice from social services.
