Brookside House Care Home

After a few weeks of staying at this care home I had to take my husband away due to many issues that I found unacceptable...for instance his night time medication was missed on one occasion. Within a couple of days of arriving, he was hit in the face and had water thrown over him by another 'patient'. I regularly found other peoples clothing in his wardrobes and on his day of departure he was wearing someone else's trousers and had someone else' underpants in his luggage. His hearing aid went missing and I had to personally take him to our local Audiology Clinic some 12 miles away to get a new one at my own expense...I was given the impression that he would be taken out on day trips but in the few weeks he was there, his only outing was when I took him out. The interior décor of the home is somewhat sparse in my opinion and there was a strong odour of urine within the main halls as one entered and walked through the public areas. The room my husband ended up in after being moved had a cupboard that was poorly repaired and did not shut....and in my opinion I felt that for the fees charged more care and attention to detail should be forthcoming.... He is now in another care home which both he and I are very happy with in every respect.
