Claremont Care Home

This care home is terrible at night because they use just 4 care staff in the night. The 4 care staff cares for all the residents that are not on one to one care. These staff gets overworked, overwhelmed and tired that they are not able to give quality care and attention to the residents. Claremont employs adequate staff for day shift because they know inspectors could visit unannounced and the residents families could also visit. They need to do better at night. Residents deserve good care at night and not just during the day. They reduce staff at night to cut cost. I used to go there for night shift through an agency but I stopped going because I could not continue to watch residents suffer due to staff overworking and shortages at night.

I've worked at Claremont on a few occasions with an agency. I must say the place is falling to pieces, the decor is absolutely shocking! Its exactly the same as it was when it opened all them years ago. The management is really poor they just sit in their offices giving orders out to care staff (all while running on critical care staff). Dont even do the smallest things like answering buzzers when needed. The care staff are run into the ground and are physically, mentally and emotionally drained and running on critical staff every single shift. When managing a care home you need to actually care about your staff and vulnerable residents. This company do not care about the residents well being its just all about money for them. This care home is not fit for a dog let alone vulnerable elderly people that are no longer able to care for them self's anymore. Residents are all squashed into a tiny lounge so they can save on energy bills and one side of the building is completely shut off to residents. They don't have no quality of life in this care home its completely unacceptable. No stimulation no activities. Just left to their own devices sat in a lounge. If you are a family member with a loved one in this care home or any park home care home get them out FAST.
