Brandon Lodge Care Home

Brandon Lodge Care Home is located in a small village approximately 3 miles from Durham city centre.& It offers nursing, residential, palliative and short stay care for older people. Brandon has 38 beds and has excellent links with the local community including GP services, Nursing services, Schools and Churches.

The Home is set over 2 floors with lift access to the 1st floor The Prince Bishop suite, which provides both nursing and residential care. The ground floor, Brancepeth Suite, offers residential care.& &

The Home has a & spacious dining room which gives access to the secure and well-maintained garden area. Residents can take theier meals in the dining room or have the option of having theier meals in their own rooms.

Residents can have a choice of lounges throughout the Home, some of which have TVs and one which is a "quiet" lounge.&

The home is manned by trained staff including nurses and care staff who undertake training to provide them with the skills to deliver the best possible service.

Residents and Relatives can attend monthly meetings and& can give their opinion of services within the Home.& The Home also& operates an open door policy shoudl residents have more personal issues.

Brandon has excellent links with the local GPs, Nursing Services and Social Work Team who form part of a multi disciplinary team who work together to deliver the best service to the Residents within the care home.

There are weekly visits to the Home by a hairdresser and residents are able to access this service for a small charge.& There is also access to a Chriopodist, Optical and Dental services.

Brandon continues to enjoy good links with the local Churches who delivery services within the home.

Residents can access an Advocacy Service if they have no-one to represent them and are unable to speak for themselves.

At Brandon we aim to offer the best possible service and to deliver person centred care to each resident, to encourage them to embrace their new lives within the care setting.
