I visited the ae on 30th October due to a finger injury requiring paper stitches. The nurse practitioner was loverly asked me to make appointment to go back on Monday 2nd October the time was for 2\30.I arrived on time but at 3pm I was still sitting watching everyone else going in.I went and asked the receptionist where I was at on the list as I was due back at work. Within ten mins a nurse arrived and talked to the receptionist then shouted for my turn. As I sat down they asked me why I came to a%e at Workington? I explained what had happened. They said I should have gone to the maryport practice I am in? I explained that I was requested to attend the Workington one by the nurse practitioner who treated me on 30th Oct. They were not happy and told me I was more or less taking up appointments of ill people, I felt awful. If I had been told I could use my own practice after the initial accident I would have. Talk about been put in your place and humiliated isnt brill. Iam sorry to all the people who were really ill that day from Workington and not from maryport but we dont have a aee. Attitude training to nurses would go along way and also dont ask the receptionist a question it will be your downfall.
