After suffering sudden severe abdominal pain, it was recommended that I visit this hospital having completed the 111 questionnaire online. From the minute I arrived I felt I was not welcome and that I was a time waster. The receptionist was abrupt and ordered my husband to leave. After checking in (with the entire reception area listening to my personal details), a urine sample bowl was virtually thrust at me and I was told to take a sample. After waiting around 15 minutes, a nurse came to collect me from where I was waiting. Considering I was extremely upset and in tears she did not show any empathy and, again, I felt like I was wasting her time. After a few tests, the nurse told me she 'didn't think' anything was wrong. I happened to mention how upset I was that I was spending time there on my husband's birthday she immediately appeared to lose any empathy she had and made an assumption that I was there because I had either been over indulging on food and alcohol and that I had brought the whole situation on myself. and that I had, indeed, wasted their time. This was NOT the case. I cut my holiday short to return home and more than 48 hours after visiting the hospital I was still in pain so went to my own GP who saw me in person as a priority and wanted to conduct further tests. My GP could not even find any evidence that I visited the hospital; no test results, blood pressure reading, etc was written on my notes. I hope I never have the misfortune to visit this hospital ever again. If you want to be judged, go here, if you want to be cared for, go elsewhere.

I was stung by a wasp before coming on holiday to Keswick and thought it would clear up quickly but I ended up with a nasty cellulitis of my foot spreading up my leg. I went to the Keswick hospital and being a nurse myself I was so impressed with the care I received there. A young lady who checked me in called Emma Robson was the most friendly person and her people skills were amazing with every patient she dealt with.Emma is a credit to her profession .Also the nurse who dealt with me and gave me some antibiotics was lovely too . I didn’t get her name but she had short blonde hair . Thankyou to all . Leg improving xxx love Debbie Bamford from Thirsk xx
