My husbands stay was a complete waste of time. The staff did not listen to my concerns regarding my husbands state of health with the result that upon discharge he was rushed back into hospital within a few days. |

I had the misfortune to fall in May 2021 fracturing my pelvis. Poole Hospital was full at the time and I was transferred to Jersey Ward at The Aldernay for recuperation. I was there for five plus weeks with the best care anyone could ask for. The staff, both male and female, were amazing. Their care, compassion and understanding were exceptional, often pre-empting my needs and uplifting my spirits. The Hospital maintains high standards and all staff are a credit to their profession. I cannot thank them enough and will always remember them with great fondness. The food was excellent and huge credit goes to the Chef who caters admirably for a cross section of appetites. There were many small touches which made The Aldernay ‘special’, with emphasis always on the well-being of patients. All were encouraged to be active and sociable as often as reasonable in order to return to ‘normal life’. The communal television was welcomed by many. To sit in the garden in the sunshine was a particular pleasure. ’Thank you’ never sounds enough as I continue to improve. My best to every-one. Maureen Brosnahan. |
