I’m day 13 after my L5/S1 spinal fusion and I feel fabulous. Arriving at hospital on the day of my surgery at 7:45 am,I was greeted with a lovely nurse who took me to my room. I was told I was first on the list so not long after I met with my surgeon Mr Shair and my Anesthetist who explained the process ahead. I was in the room receiving my anaesthetic at 8:30am n next thing I remember was being back in my room at 12:30 with a nurse talking to me. I was completely pain free and felt amazing. Nurses constantly checked on me and my anesthetist n surgeon came to check on me that afternoon. I was in hospital 3 days and I honestly can say everyone at this hospital was amazing.Such lovely people who truly care about you and it’s just so lovely to feel so well looked after. I had a physiotherapist come to see me the day after surgery and gave me fabulous exercises to do to help me recover. I had pins n needles in left leg and these helped them to go away by day 3. On my day of discharge I see the physiotherapist again,and then was sent fir X-rays,before being allowed home (still pain free) I had a phone call a few days after from my nurse to check I was ok which was lovely. I have not felt any pain since having my surgery and I don’t understand why lol but I do have a high pain threshold,plus I was in excruciating pain before surgery so I think that’s a factor to why I feel so good now. I highly recommend this fabulous hospital.Thank you all for the care I have received and I already feel that surgery has worked.No more agonising back pain that radiates down my leg.You have gave me my life back again to enjoy to the best I can.
