I have been an inpatient at the John munroe for a long time and the time ive spent here as been a negative experience so far i have experienced unacceptable levels of care some of this seems to be due to lack of experienced staffing, not enough staff a lack of regular staff and a high usage of external agency staff, a failure to keep regular staff, a huge turn around of staff what is the reason for this? A lot of very young staff and not many older more mature staff, staff on duty majority most unknown to me despite being here for a long time..there seems to be alot of confidentiality issues i would say major confidentiality breaches between staff regarding patients and staff themselves..there has been alot of safeguarding issues here in which nobody seems to do anything about..with everything noone gives you a straight answer its like being up against a brick wall..i could write an awful lot more but i experience what you call a headache from trying to be heard so i give up the staff nurses have very little interaction with patients but majority there is only one per unit sometimes one nurse has to be shared amongst two units again alot of agency usage due to lack of regular nurses majority its clinical support workers that do majority of the care there is insufficent control being exercised of the hospital from management such as how well staff do there job, lack of authority, which staffing issues reflects onto the patient causing distess for the actual patient, care plans put in place are not followed which are legal documents again reflecting of poor levels of patient care, so basically my care at times as been appalling staff can be very confrontational, argumentative and Judgemental with a patient at times again this is down to the kind of people they employ and lack of experience unfortunatley john munroe is my placement until my therapy is completed,, there is some good here also but that depends on the individual staff themselves on the standard of care they are able to offer as a good carer despite the staffing issues however on a more positive note the standard and quality of the therapy offered at the John munroe is excellent and it is because of this that i tolerate all other aspects of poor quality of care offered..in between therapy sessions...the therapy team howevever consists of one consultant psychologist who offers an excellent proffesional standard of care and quality of individulised patient centred therapy sessions..there is also an assistant psychologist and occupational therapy team the art therapist has now retired and so far as not been replaced..patients also have there own psychiatrist who can be seen as needed..it is the therapy i tolerate the John Munroe for otherwise i would have requested a different placement a long time ago...again there is much more i could say but i have spoken on many occassions to the care quality commission however john munroe seem to think they can be a law unto themselves im afraid not..
