Our initial Care Worker was excellent, hard working & caring, but this cannot be said for all of the staff. When we requested additional hours we expected the same level of professionalism, but this was not the case. The review (which involved supervisor introducing two new carers) was very jovial; to the point where it became unprofessional and party like and continued after they left the property in car park. My mother appeared to be an afterthought. We went ahead, anyway, assuming that it was glitch, but mother became traumatised and banned them from the house. The notes left in the 'day book' also caused concern, stating that mum had said she didn't want a meal but it was cooked anyway; the notes also stated Mrs ------ never stops talking. I discovered that the original care worker had been leaving up to 40 minutes early and that we were charged in full without explanation (£24.00 per hour, double for entire Bank Holiday weekend). When I telephoned to make enquiries/complain nobody called back, when I wrote nobody replied. In summary: Initial Care Worker was excellent, additional Care Workers unprofessional. Management Team unprofessional and do not reply to enquiries. Would I recommend Home Instead ? No. We now have extremely Caring & Professional Private Care Worker.
