Sheffield City Councils City Wide Care Alarms (CWCA) service is an emergency& community care alarm service, available to anyone over 18 living in Sheffield. The office is based in the Darnall area of Sheffield.
The service operates twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Mobile Support Workers are employed to respond to emergency alarms and provide assistance to people& in and around their own homes. The staff are all professionally trained and equipped, for example, to safely help people up from the floor if they have fallen.
At the time of this inspection approximately 8,500 people were registered to receive a service from City Wide Care Alarms.
In addition to providing a mobile response service, CWCA also provides a range of additional sensors which can be added to help people with specific needs, for example, if they are at risk of falling, have epilepsy& or& Dementia.
