This one is worst care home in Peterborough area. Poor quality and residential care. Inadequate staffs and poor management service. It’s better not to describe about the food, it’s absolutely disgusting, serving expired food and low quality food from the local shops. Staffs are so rude to the residents and also no enough staff to look after the residents. Too many staff leaving, They are not there long enough to get to know the residents, and always looks they are short staffed. No solid recreational activities set out for the residents to do and I found it quite a depressing atmosphere in the regular visits i have made in the last 6 month of the 3 years i have been visiting. I will say the refurbishment to the home is a great improvement to what it was before. When there is a Birthday for someone in residence there is no Birthday cards given out from the management and staff. Most importantly during my visit I saw one of the resident fall down on the floor and the manager call all the staff to teach them how to use hoist with out looking after that poor resident. It’s shows they were not organised. I never recommend this home for anyone. Reply from Field House Wed, 13 Mar 2019 10:53:08 Z I am concerned to read a comment like this one and also surprised that you did not address this at the time. All of our regular visitors are fully aware that the senior staff are always available to discuss any concerns or issues. The feedback we receive from residents and relatives regarding the food is very good, we categorically do not serve expired food and we source our products from major supermarkets such as Tesco, Asda, Iceland, etc. Their delivery vans are seen at our premises several times a week. In any care home the staff are often of the opinion that there are not sufficient numbers, however we closely monitor our dependency levels and adjust staffing ratios accordingly. We pride ourselves on the fact that most of our off-duty staff are willing to cover shifts as and when necessary. The majority of our staff are longstanding and all of the staff are familiar with all of the residents. As you state you are a regular visitor to our home you will no doubt be familiar with the various posters and noticeboards around the home detailing the activities on offer both regularly and for special occasions. We mark many occasions within the home and they are often accompanied with music and dancing which is enjoyed by all. Probably the most concerning is your comment regarding a resident falling – every member of our care staff is fully trained in moving and handling techniques and these training sessions are held in a dedicated training room and not in the resident areas. It is a fact that falls happen and nothing can be done to fully remove the risk of falling, despite the range of risk assessments in place. Should a resident fall then dignity and comfort is the first priority whilst they are being offered any assistance necessary, I would suggest that if you were observing from a distance, you had not recognised the full extent of the care being given. |
