In December 2015 my 89 year old grandma suffered a nasty fall where she broke her wrist and needed a hip replacement. On leaving hospital she was unable to get around by herself and required carers to help her, 4 times a day. Over the past few months my grandma has been reasonably happy with the care she's receiving although we have had a few issues with them not turning up to give her breakfast until gone 11 am, which they put down to having been short staffed. On Friday 1st April the night time carer left at 8 pm and after putting the house keys in the key safe, which is located outside, at the side of my gran's house, they left without closing the safe door. Therefore from 8 pm Friday to when the first morning care arrived (who found the key safe wide open) her keys had been on show and easily accessible for over 12 hours. My grandma is an old vulnerable lady, this could of had such terrible consequences that it doesn't bear thinking about. We contacted the carers on Saturday and requested that this carer not attend anyone yet they sent the same carer again today. My grandma has been left very worried that this will happen again. We have now lost confidence in the service.
