I would just like to say that all the staff, Nurses and Doctors with whom I have had contact have been friendly, helpful, sympathetic and understanding at what has been and still is a distressing and stressful time for me.
I am a new patient and I cannot rate the surgery and staff highly enough. | ||||||

I had my lower left leg amputated on 17/07/19, I was discharged from hospital on the 21/07/19 and told to book an appointment with the nurse at my Go's to have my dressings checked in 10days, I called my GP and asked for said appointment offering to accept an appointment 2days either side of the 10days I was told but no nothing, in fact the soonest they could offer was 6days later, I was told I would get a call back, never happened, maybe if they didn't close for one and a half hours for dinner they could see more patients? I mean 90min for dinner seems a bit excessive, when people are waiting over 2weeks after major surgery for an appointment. For post operative wounds where patient has limited mobility / housebound the wound dressings should be undertaken by the district nurse. (The Hospitals can and should refer you directly) Please note if you were not called back immediately it may be because we are waiting on the District Nursing Team to confirm the appointment has been received and accepted before calling back. BG Health provides appointments for patients who require simple post operative wound dressings that would be expected to heal within 6 weeks. When HCAs & Nurses are on holiday or in certain circumstances we may offer the appointment at the other branch site. I do hope this clarifies the issue. I am a fan of the website. It has saved me needing an appointment. The self referral informtation is really useful. It does take a little while to get used to the changes, but it has clear and consise information on it. The staff at the surgery are helpful as well. | ||||||
