The GP didn't even bother listening to what I was going to say. From the moment I stepped in to his office he made it clear that he wanted me out of the way and even said that he has a really busy schedule. I am a student at the UEA and have been suffering from stress related to my personal life and university life and the GP I saw didn't even want to listen to the word I said. I've was feeling really low that morning and seeing this GP made it even worse. I know for a fact that the GP could get really busy but this GP didn't even let me explain what was happening and why I was feeling the way I'm feeling. First thing is to diagnose something but how can someone diagnose someone when they just dismiss you straight away. If I could give a negative rating, I would but unfortunately it won't let me.

We would always encourage anyone who wishes to comment so negatively about our services to discuss any issues directly with the Practice Manager in the first instance, so we can investigate what may have happened for someone to feel our services were so negative. If you wish to contact us, please do so by emailing umsuea@nhs.net or phoning 01603 251600. Thank you.

I've been with UEA Medical Centre for 6 years, now. I very rarely need to go to the Doctors, but on the few occasions I have, I have been extremely let down. I can never get an appointment when I want one. When I finally do get in there, the doctors and medical staff are extremely friendly, but I cant help feeling they are trying to get people out of the door as soon as possible. Every time I have to deal with this centre, I leave thinking "that's it I'm changing my doctors", but of course there is little motivation when there is nothing wrong with you! This is the final straw, though. I can't get an appointment for something that is worrying me a lot, for 5 weeks!!! Their response is, try the walk-in centre! What is the point of being registered at a practice if that is always their first response!!! It's just the most inefficient organisation I have ever come across.

We are sorry to read your comments. Your inability to get an appointment is not because we are an inefficient organisation, it is because appointment demand is extremely high. We are doing the best we can with the funding and staffing that have available and we are currently advertising for another doctor. We are usually booking 2-3 weeks ahead for a routine doctor appointment, but for more pressing issues that cannot wait that long we have urgent doctor same day access clinic all day every day from Monday to Friday. If you wish to see a particular doctor who only works very part-time hours, you may have to wait a bit longer. Our nurses are highly skilled to deal with a multitude of issues and we have variety of clinics which are available to book in advance or same day. If none of these options are suitable then we would advise the Walk In Centre as this is what it is for.

Attended feeling unwell. Not able to get parking permit then walk but to car in patient slot. Hit by £60 fine for 30 min visit. Most places take car number on reception to keep parking sharks at bay

Parking across the university campus is not governed by the UEA Medical Centre. We are sorry to hear you received a fine, but this is out of our control and we have many signs and notices within reception advising patients to obtain a parking permit on arrival. You could try and visit the security lodge on campus to see if they are able to revoke the charge, but this may not be possible. We are unsure how this relates to your review title ‘unsympathetic doctor, failed to reassure’. If you have further comments about this, then please contact the practice and ask to speak to the Operations Manager.
