I have attended this practice for several years and I rarely ever receive the help that I need. I have gone to appointments ample times requesting, if not begging, for help with mental health issues. When I was 19 I managed to get away from an abusive relationship which left me quite unstable and quite regularly suicidal. I requested mental health assistance and they made me wait 9 months for an appointment. In those 9 months of not receiving help I self-harmed numerous times, developed agoraphobia, and my anxiety and depression increased tenfold. If it were not for the support of my friends and family I would have committed suicide. When I eventually did receive "help" for my problem they were unwilling to work around my agoraphobia in any way. They gave me no leniency or alternatives, and I was eventually discharged after several appointments for the very reason I requested to see them in the first place. A year or two went by of me remaining in this condition, not going out at all and having to rely on the support of my family to keep me alive until eventually the burden was becoming too great and I had to push myself to see my GP again. Just like last time I had a 9-month waiting time before I got to see the mental health support. The outcome was disappointing, to say the least. Again, I was given no leniency or support for my inability to leave the house regularly. In addition to this, the person I was seeing accused me of only doing this so I could get signed off from the jobcentre. Naturally, I had had enough at this point and that was the last time I saw these so-called specialists. I had to accept that I wasn't going to get help for my problem and that I have to do this alone. For the past 5 years I have continued to suffer from agoraphobia and anxiety, rarely leaving the house and by proxy becoming malnourished and frail. I have managed to stop being as depressed but only because of my friends not giving up on me. In conclusion, this is subpar help for the people that need it most. If you have a cold or the flu or anything like that, they can help you easily, but they are clearly ill-equipped to be dealing with mentally ill patients. The fact is that if I were not fortunate enough to have friends to support me that I would be dead now. |

called to arrange a repeat prescription on the tuesday - was told it would be ready to collect on friday. Went to the pharmacy (which is next door) on Saturday and nothing had been sent over. This was over a bank holiday - instead of offering to provide an emergency prescription, they informed me that I would need to call 111 - obtain an emergency request from them and get it sent to Meadowhead pharmacy. 2 hours later - it wasn't there, had to call 111 again, who then told me I needed to get the emergency medicine from Jordanthorpe or wait until tuesday. Luckily after spending the good part of an hour with the (really lovely and pleasant staff) at Meadowhead Pharmacy I got a 5 day dose of my medication. I wasnt the only person from Jordanthorpe who had to deal with this scenario as I was told by one of the staff member. I need my medication because of my MH and it not being available is not ideal at all. Terrible. Will be moving to a new surgery ASAP |

I find it quite inconceivable for the receptionist needing to ask for the reason I need to see the GP. This information should be deemed as CONFIDENTIAL, to be discussed with the GP only and not for the the entire waiting area to hear. UNACCEPTABLE.
I would like some feedback as for the reason for this. |
