This place has gone from bad to worse. I have seen a gp face to face once in 9 years and that was for a Covid booster at 7pm (obvs overtime critical). On one occasion I was referred to the physio who didn't examine me but instead referred me on. The same physio sent me to the Hallamshire for a routine blood test for me to be told by reception weeks later (when they still had no results) that it could have been done in the surgery and 'next time ignore whoever tells you that' (the health practitioner). It is impossible to get through on the phone and the phone was picked up on one occasion by someone saying 'hello' - no mention of it being a GP surgery! I was 1st in the que on one occasion and still was on hold for 15 mins before the phone was answered - I got an appointment (most unusual!!) and instead of a gp I saw the nurse (obvs not overtime). She was lovely and seemingly very thorough, saying she would call me back in less than a week to check for on my condition/improvements. The call never came so I called 2 days later at precisely 8am for my call to ring off twice and when I was put through, I pressed for a call back - that never came! I called the surgery again 3 times on the same day at teatime. This time, I was on hold twice for over 15 mins before the call rang off and then when reception did answer, I was given no explanation why I hadn't been called back the previous week but instead I was told that the nurse had referred me to a gp for a hospital referral to be then told the said GP is on annual leave for 2 weeks!! What the hell is going on here? I don't want anything special although a GP appt would be useful and a fit for purpose reception would take the stress out of the booking system. If any other business had such poor customer service they would have been closed down years ago. This was happening way before Covid so there is no excuses. Sloan Medical Centre you should hang your heads in shame. You don't deserve to be in business and should walk away and let someone else run the practice who genuinely cares |

Had to get advice for my Covid-19 passport today. After trying the internet I was told to go to my doctors and they would help. I must admit I was dreading the experience because I expected to hit brick walls as everybody seems to be condemning the NHS. I was met with a pleasant receptionist who straight away sorted what I needed whilst attending other people at the same time. She took time and made sure I’d got the information I needed. I followed everything she asked me to do and it was sorted sharpish. Thank you. ?? |

This practice has the most incompetent and rudest staff I’ve ever come across. One receptionist was rude to me on the phone, don’t know which one but she has a voice like a Russian truck driver. On one visit the doctor I saw couldn’t even be bothered to look at the medical notes and asked what I wanted them to do about the ailment concerned. Highly unprofessional practice with constant failings by both doctors and staff. If you’re looking for good medical care you certainly won’t find it at this practice. |
