Dear Patient, we are very sorry that you feel our service doesn't meet your needs and wish to apologise sincerely for any inconvenience experienced. We do offer same day access every day but sadly this does not always prove convenient for all patients. We try to advise patients of the alternative arrangements elsewhere in the city and later in the day. Each day the attendance at same day is variable and we have no way of knowing who will attend. Today for instance (Tuesday 18 June), we have had 10 unused same day access slots. We would advise you to inform your employer that you need to attend surgery for treatment so that you can attend a same day access appointment; we are able to provide proof for your employer that you have attended surgery by way of an appointment slip if this would help you prove to them you needed medical attention. Same day appointment slots can be booked by presenting at the surgery from 8.20am or ringing from 8.30am. We also recommend that you apply for online access to appointments and prescriptions then you are able to log on at your leisure and book an appointment. From July 2019 NHS England are asking all practices to have more appointments available for booking online. In addition, if you ring the surgery in the morning, you can ask for a call back from a Doctor for telephone advice (obviously this cannot be a timed call back so this too can prove problematic for patients in work). Your call back could take place up to 8pm at night so this is not recommended for urgent problems. If you would like to ring and speak to the practice manager, Mandy Neville she will be happy to discuss your concerns. We do have a small number of late night appointments from 6.30 -8pm one evening per week which are bookable in advance. Pharmacies are also a fantastic resource as a first port of call; they may well be able to offer you advise or treatment. There is also the 111 national helpline for medical advise; they will note your symptoms and make appropriate recommendations for treatment We hope the above information is of assistance.
