over the past 12 months I have needed access to a GP on two occassions (both non covid related) this is the first time I have requested an appointment in many years. Both times getting an appointment was almost impossible. The first time I had to wait over 2 weeks for a telephone call, by which point I was very unwell. No follow up was available, again due to lack of appointments. This time round I have been trying for over a week to get an appointment and have now been told next possible appointment (again telephone call) is over 2 weeks away. By which point I will be very unwell or dead! So it is of to A&E for me. I will humbly apologise to the a&e staff as this is really not an a&e issue, but I am definitely in need of medical attention which can not posisbly wait for 2 1/2 weeks for a phonecall (which is ulikely to be helpful) This makes me so angry, especially as I am a doctor myslef working in mental health and am seeing patients face to face, including home visits all the time now. It is a disgrace. There really is no point being registered with a GP anymore. |

You can no longer get a face to face appointment, when you call for an emergency appointment you do not speak to a doctor it is always a practitioner who then doesn’t have the knowledge of expertise to deal with the call, I even questioned her diagnosis as when I have had the same thing previously I was given different medication and was offered a trip to a&e! There is no wonder the a&e departments can’t cope! I wouldn’t be wanting an appointment if there wasn’t an issue. There is no reason now we are not getting face to face appointments. Even regular appointments are booked up for over 3 weeks and it’s still only a telephone call appointment. I can go see Drs at the hospital, a dentist but yet GP’s are not returning to normal practice! When I queried |

Turned up on time for my appointment but was sat there for 40 minutes because the receptionist hadn't booked me in. Nurse tried to smooth it over saying she was running a bit late anyway. Is this where I caught my covid? 40 minutes sat there with god knows who, no sign of a hand sanitizer. |
