I have written elsewhere about my experience of this practice and it is clear from these reviews that since 2017 the direction has been downwards. I have been a patient since 2018 and from the outset it was a confusing and unhelpful experience. My medical records were lost even though I had provide hard copies of the most recent and important ones . The GP who saw me at first appointment could not understand why I wanted to introduce myself and shunted me out as quickly as possible. I share the view of many that the Reception manager is rude and often unhelpful. The one Doctor I felt really comfortable with is now rarely available for appointments due to a flawed system and the service consists almost entirely of phone calls and prescriptions. I need more than that and reception staff for sure need training around dealing with mental health issues. I have now found a more accessible practice with longer surgery hours many more doctors and a pleasant reception. Why did I put up with it for so long? | ||||||

I have been lucky enough through my life not to need frequent visits to the doctor. REcently, however, I have had a problem with unsteadiness and sought the help of my surgery at The Abbey Medical Centre. I was delighted to find a young doctor who not only listened carefully to my issues but suggested a longer appointment the following week to be able to go into my concerns in more detail and carry out a wider range of tests. SHe was able to reassure me that there was nothing abnormal happening... Just a case of getting older. Thank you for such a kind and caring approach. | ||||||
