The receptionists are the first part of the practice that patients experience.
Receptionists who answer the phone already sounding annoyed aren't a good start.
Giving information like "downstairs" - when I don't know which of the two sites I'm actually speaking to is unhelpful / misleading.
Not proactively explaining what happens to patients who don't regularly visit is not doing your job.
Becoming condescending when patients ask questions is unacceptable.
If you don't want to speak to patients - don't bother answering the phone. |

The GPs generally provide good care in Hammersmith GP practice, and I never find it too difficult to book an appointment. I attended early this morning 13/11/18 for a back problem and I am very grateful to the Dr for taking time to really look into my concerns and for offering an alternative treatment. He is not one of those doctors who just types on to their computer while you talk about your health problem and tries to fit you in within their 15min time frame. He genuinely listened and was kind and warm, like how a normal human being should be to another esp when one is unwell. |

One week ago I booked an appointment for today (which is too long a waiting time to begin with), then today I went there early, I sat in the waiting area waiting for my name to be called... until, ten minutes after the time of my appointment, I received a text on my phone informing me that I had failed to attend my appointment, which cost the NHS 160£. I immediately went to the reception and explained that I had NOT failed to attend,I had been waiting right there for my name to be called for half an hour, but the GP wouldn't see me by now, even if it was only 10 minutes after my actual appointment time, and it was in no way my fault.I had to book another appointment, which is in eleven days' time. But that's completely useless! I needed to see a doctor ONE WEEK AGO! This is the worst service ever, so much for caring for the patients! |
