    I attended today to get my dressing looked at after surgery only to be told they can't look at it today,. They did not even attempt to make an appointment.

    We are sorry to hear you have not had a positive experience at the practice, but it is unrealistic to attend the surgery without a prior appointment and expect to be attended to on the same day, given the current unprecedented demand on NHS GP services. We would be very happy to look into your concerns if you contact us directly, and let us know what you feel went wrong in detail so that we can look at all the actual facts of the matter. Most encounters patients experience at this practice go well and a second thought is usually not given to the experience. This majority of patients will find it difficult to recognize the same practice from your description. As evidence of this, we would like to draw your attention to the fact that over the years, surveys on this website, consistently show that the vast majority of our registered patients are happy with the service they receive and would recommend us to others. Moreover, the Care Quality Commission has consistently rated this practice as providing good services. This is despite the worsening workforce shortages across the NHS, with clear statistical evidence of a dwindling number of GPs available to meet relentlessly increasing demand. It is open to you to file a formal complaint, or register with another practice in the locality, to enable you compare with the service here.

    Exceptional service from both doctors and reception staff not to mention the very helpful young security officer. I’ve not had a problem with appointments and getting my repeat medication. They do go above and beyond for their patients. Understandably there are many frustrations from other patients about the service but I think the fault is not that of the doctors or staff. They are under a considerable amount of pressure with limited resources and I pity them as they receive a torrent of abuse from people who refuse to understand that the NHS is no longer what it used to be. Overall I’m pleased with my GP. I would recommend this practice to anyone looking to receive good medical care. You are doing a fantastic job with so little at your disposal.

    Dear Sir or Madam, Thank you for your kind words which reflect deep insight and thoughtfulness with respect to the realities of providing care with limited resources. Feedback such as yours goes a long way towards boosting the morale of hard-pressed front-line staff who face the stress of dealing with often unreasonable demands of some who do not have the kind of insight you do. We all work very hard to provide the service despite the overblown expectations fueled by promises not matched by adequate funding, in the face of dire staff shortages, which are worsening. Most patients appreciate this like you do, as evidence by favourable ratings from broader surveys. Unfortunately, most positive experiences go unremarked while a few negative experiences, get prominence here. Thanks again!

    Been in contact frequently with this GP over the past few months due to unknown illness. They have failed me at every step of their care and prescribed me medication for illnesses which I did not have - heart medication which could have probably killed me. In addition, they ignored obvious signs which led me going to A&E where I was diagnosed as severely dehydrated and put on a drip for 8 hours. The receptionists are rude and there seems to be no set policy on things- for example I call in the afternoon for an appointment and I am told I have to call in the morning, the next day I call in the morning for an afternoon appointment and I’m told that I have to call back in the afternoon. Moreover, they really try to make you feel stupid for calling them out on these different rules. Would not recommend to anyone, I think the GP is a front for something else because they definitely aren’t providing care.
