Incompetence bordering on malpractice would be the best way to describe this practice. On multiple occasions now I have received incorrect and dangerous advice from multiple doctors at this surgery. The first case was when I had an extremely swallon neck that I suspected to be a bad throat infection, I informed the surgery of my symptoms where I was informed that it probably wasn't an infection, but was rather just a virus and there would be no need to for antibiotics. After the infection hadn't improved I once again contacted the surgery where they once again refused to see me and informed me that it was still a virus. 4 weeks later I tried once again to see a doctor at the surgery as symptoms hadn't improved and I was in a huge amount of pain, apparently still a virus. After the refusal to see me for the third time I went private, where I required 2 courses of IV antibiotics over a month to remove the infection and a bone graft to replace the bone in my jaw that was eaten away by the infection. I put this down to being extremely over stretched during the hight of covid and the devistating cuts against the NHS in recent years so just left it alone. Now, to the latest incompetence that has happened over the last couple of weeks. We were informed that there had been a case of strep-a at the nursery my son attends. A week later, my Son showed classic signs of scarlet fever, including fever, rash and a red blistered tongue. We requested an urgent appointment, explaining the situation and were once again told that it was probably just a virus. 2 days of fighting with the doctor we finally got him in for a swob test, as they refused to give antibiotics without the swab test being completed first. Today his test came back positive. Children can and have died from this. |

I have visited the surgery three times recently with different issues , and would just like to express that on each occasion i have always walked away feeling very satisfied with the service provided. I have always been able to get an appointment very quickly , reception staff always friendly and helpful , and my doctor is an absolute credit to the nhs.
Thank you all. |
