Chapel Medical Centre is not digital friendly. They still follow old traditional way of running practice and are not keeping up with NHS digital practices. Their Patient access or G.P app is useless and Practice does not allow access to own medical record through apps. Their Administration team does not respond to query and when once in blue moon if they do than do not pay attention to details. Their Doctors do not give choices for hospitals which is patient legal right. CGS needs to look into their practice. A big failure and absolute ZERO from me. I recommend choosing another practice if someone really cares of himself. |

An overview of one experience for which there are many points that could be improved, for easier understanding I have listed them below:
1. (February) Arranging a routine MRI scan involved appointment with specialist at London NHS hospital first, at which i was told not to sit down as it going to take less than a minute and indeed it did. I was not sent for a scan, but have just seen specialist for him to tell me that an appointment for scan will be made. Complete waste of time and money (return ticket to London, half day off taken) for something that could be done over the phone
2. (March) Letter sent to the surgery by the specialist to arrange another appointment to discuss MRI scan results, copy sent to myself
3. (April) Chasing surgery on appointment - no idea what is going on, letter lost etc
4. (April) Brought copy of letter to surgery, told this will be sorted
5. (May-June) No contact from surgery, no news
6. (July) Chasing appointment, promised it will be sorted
7. (August) No contact from surgery, no news
8. (September) Chasing appointment, again promised it will be sorted
9. (October) Still nothing and again promised it will be sorted
So I have been waiting for results of my MRI scan for 7 months now and still no sign of that elusive appointment to find out results.
And this is happening to someone that can 'navigate' through administration hoops, that is computer literate and understands the ins and outs of medical systems. What if this was a frail old person living alone, not assertive or with no transport or other means to reach the surgery on regular basis? And what if my medical problem was a little more severe than it is or I was really anxious or worried about it and this was affecting the quality of my life?
And how many more excuses and promises are there given out to patients by this surgery?
Can someone sort this mess out before is too late ? |
